Promotionals we created
Each episode of America in distress is roughly 44 minutes long. If you include commercial breaks that some stations require, it comes out to one hour.
We create a number of promotionals during post-production, to give potential audiences the chance to decide in a short amount of time, whether or not they would like to see the entire film. The first promo is five minues long. The second is about 2 and a half.
After we began our Facebook campaign, we had a number of organizations accuse of of spamming on their sites, which is ironic since many of the same groups had encouraged us to make the video in the first place. The shorter video was better accepted.
We also needed a trailer that was best suited for playing on mobile devices such as iphones and tablets, so we came up with a short Mobile version. Since mobile devices generally have the volume muted, we placed Open-Captioning onto the video so the sound doesn't have to be turned up.
